Richard Speight began directing after decades of amassing an impressive list of acting credits in projects like Band of Brothers, Old Henry, Justified, Jericho, Supernatural, and The Agency.
He first found success as a director/writer with his award winning short film America 101. The critically acclaimed dark comedy screened in over thirty festivals worldwide and opened the door for him to direct national commercials for major brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Buffalo Wild Wings.
It was his acceptance into Warner Brothers' prestigious Director's Program that helped him break into episodic television and land a slot on the hit series Supernatural. His first effort, Just My Imagination, earned both him and writer Jenny Klein Hugo Award nominations, the only such honors in the show's 15-year run.
Speight helmed ten more Supernatural episodes across its final four seasons, then expanded his portfolio to include Lucifer, Walker, Kung Fu, The Winchesters, the comedy series Kings of Con (which he also co-created, starred in, and wrote), and Netflix's Sandman spinoff Dead Boy Detectives.
